GCAC aims to increase the number of low-income,
first-generation college and underrepresented students who enter and complete higher education. The program places recent graduates from similar backgrounds as college advisers in communities across N.E. Georgia.

Ms. HarrisMs. Harris is the newest member of the College & Career Team. She is a recent graduate of Georgia State University, receiving her degree in public relations with a minor in Political Science. Ms. Harris is thrilled to join the Raider family, and assist students in their steps to attending college.
Fun Facts: Ms. Harris studied abroad in Italy on scholarship. Ms. Harris has worked on the Public Relations team for Rep. Stacey Abrams who is currently running for Georgia governor! Ms. Harris' 3 Success Tips: 1. Always ask the question! Don't be afraid of an answer. 2. Live a life of cans and not a life can'ts 3. Never be to proud to ask for help! Ms. DowdyMs. Dowdy is also exciting to be returning to the Raider family. She is an alumna of the University of Georgia, receiving a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a sports media certificate of completion from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications. She is looking forward to the new class of students and plans to make sure each one leaves with a plan!
Fun Facts: During her time in Grady Sports at the University of Georgia, Ms. Dowdy was able to cover both college and professional teams interviewing athletes and coaches such as Maya Moore, Britney Griner and Coach Mark Richt. Ms. AllenMs. Allen is very excited to be returning to the Raider family this year! She is a graduate of The University of Alabama earning a degree in Business Management with a specialization in Human Resources. As a first generation college student, Ms. Allen knows what it takes to succeed and is ready to help the students at Mays achieve their college-going goals!
Fun Facts: Ms. Allen was very involved on campus at Alabama. She served as a Residential Advisor for three years, was an orientation leader, a member of the Presidential search committee, and a teacher's assistant for an elective freshman course in the business college just to name a few!
